Welcome to the Lincoln Band Program. At Lincoln, music is more than a class, it's a community. Whether you've played for years or are just getting started, there's a place for you here. Our program offers concert bands, jazz, combos, percussion, and more, giving you the chance to explore music, build confidence, and be part of something meaningful. You'll perform, collaborate, and grow alongside students who support and inspire each other. This is where friendships are formed, creativity thrives, and memories are made. Mission
Music affects all of us in our daily lives. It wakes us up and gets us ready to take on the world! It relaxes us when the day is done. It provides us with a soundtrack to our lives. Music is also important to our children, providing both cognitive and social benefits that help students in other aspects of their school work.

Frank Petrik
Director of Bands

Frank Petrik is an accomplished music educator, celebrated for his exceptional teaching and leadership in instrumental music. With over 27 years of experience, he has made a significant impact on music education, serving in various roles and earning a reputation as a dynamic and influential educator. Currently in his third year as Director of Bands at Lincoln High School, Frank teaches Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, guitar, and audio engineering. He is thrilled to be part of the Cardinal Flock, embracing the opportunity to continue Lincoln's tradition of excellence and inspire students to reach their full potential.
Frank has led performing ensembles that foster an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment, and his strategic leadership has garnered state and national recognition for his students and ensembles. In addition to his work in the classroom, he is an advocate for music education, serving as President of the Oregon Band Directors Association, where he promotes inclusivity, diversity, equity, and access. Beyond his role at Lincoln, Frank is a mentor with Leaders Creating Leaders, supporting teachers across the country. He has also served as a staff member with the Oregon Ambassadors of Music on three European tours, each with over 400 students, contributing to life-changing musical experiences. Frank Petrik’s dedication to music education, mentorship, and community engagement continues to inspire and elevate the field of music education.

Baldwin Rufino is Lincoln's Percussion Director. Baldwin also leads the drumline program.
